A graduate of the Indiana University Maurer College of Law, Jeff started practicing in Indianapolis in 1993, giving a successful closing argument to a jury in a business contract case the first month he was sworn into the bar. After eight years with two central Indiana firms, Jeff served for five years as Deputy State Auditor and Counsel to the State Auditor before moving to the Indiana Economic Development Corporation in early 2007, where for nearly five years he ran the statewide small business development program for the Daniels Administration. Jeff spent the next three years as in-house counsel for a small IT consulting and staffing firm. He then founded Heinzmann Law Office in 2015, where he has represented businesses, individuals, and families and practiced in state and federal courts including the Indiana Supreme Court.

An honors graduate of Northwestern University, Jeff lives in Fishers with his wife, Suzanne, and their two daughters. Jeff served eight years on the Fishers Board of Zoning Appeals and one year on the Hamilton East Public Library Board. Jeff has also served as chairman of the Hamilton County Election Board, and an Administrative Law Judge for the City of Indianapolis.

An avid golfer, reader, and walker, Jeff was recognized as a 2008 member of the Indianapolis Business Journal's Forty Under 40, was a four time finalist for KPMG's Indy's Best and Brightest, has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Lawyers to Follow on Twitter, and was selected as a 2015 Honoree for Best Local Attorney in Nuvo's Best of Indy.
