Jeff spent over five years working across Indiana representing the Daniels Administration in encouraging and facilitating an entrepreneurial culture for the formation, growth, and sustainability of small businesses.

Wills and Estate Planning

Heinzmann Law Office provides estate planning services involving the drafting of wills, powers of attorney, living wills, and health care representative appointments. We also provide assistance with the drafting of Transfer on Death Deeds and other devices designed to predetermine the assets that might be able to bypass your estate.

Landlord Tenant and Real Estate

Whether you own an apartment complex or a rental home, need to lease your own home, or are dealing with issues as a tenant or the parent of a tenant in a college town, Jeff spent five years representing some of the largest residential landlords in central Indiana. He was also a Fishers Zoning Board member for eight years and was an ALJ for Indianapolis' Department of Code Enforcement. Jeff has also assisted property owners in securing special exception variances to permit short-term rentals.

Elections and Political Races

Jeff has deep experience in Indiana election law and political matters. Jeff defended an elected official from trial through appeals all the way to the Indiana Supreme Court in the first impeachment case it heard in over 50 years; State v. Neff, 117 N.E.3d 1263 (Ind. 2019). In 2020, Jeff also represented a school board candidate in the first recount in Hamilton County in 17 years. In 2017, Jeff represented a candidate for county chiarman of a party to the party's state committee and successfully secured her appointment as county chairman. Jeff chaired the Hamilton County Election Board in 2017-2018, and has appeared before the Indiana Election Commission. In 2019, Jeff represented a precinct committeeman before a state party district committee who had been accused of no longer being a member of the party in good standing by allegedly overtly supporting candidates against the party's nominee. That committeeman still serves and has been elected by his party to fill a city council seat.

Government and Administrative Matters

As a former Deputy State Auditor, a former trustee of a $750 million 30,000 participant public employee retirement plan, a zoning and library board member, and a two time candidate for public office, Jeff knows the ins and outs of dealing with state and local government. He has represented clients regarding complex public records requests, has obtained WBE/DBE certifications in approximately one dozen jurisdictions, has appeared before the Indiana Election Commission, numerous zoning boards, and has led ethics training for government contractors. In 2016, Jeff served as an Administrative Law Judge for the Indianapolis-Marion County Department of Code Enforcement.
